Project Overview
The Enrichment Development Event (EDE) was a comprehensive educational initiative designed to create and deliver specialized sessions for computing students. As part of a team, I was responsible for planning, designing, and delivering sessions on Digital Marketing (Level 1) and UX Design (Level 2).
Throughout this project, I applied a range of skills including project planning, resource development, marketing material creation, session design, and teaching delivery. The project gave me valuable experience in applying Belbin Team Roles theory, problem-solving frameworks, and various learning models to create an effective educational experience.
Planning Phase
Utilized Belbin Team Roles to identify strengths, created roles and responsibilities tables, conducted risk assessments, and developed a comprehensive project timeline using Gantt charts.
Design Phase
Created marketing materials including flyers, developed lesson plans, and designed engaging activities for both sessions using brainstorming techniques and VARK learning model principles.
Delivery Phase
Successfully delivered Digital Marketing and UX Design sessions to computing students, provided support for team members, and handled technical challenges using problem-solving skills.
Evaluation Phase
Collected and analyzed student feedback, conducted self-reflection on teaching methods, and identified areas for improvement in future educational delivery.
Planning Phase
During the planning phase, I worked with the team to establish a solid foundation for the Enrichment Development Event. We applied Belbin's Team Roles theory to identify individual strengths and ensure effective task allocation.
Belbin Team Roles Assessment
Completed Belbin's questionnaire to identify my strengths as a "Completer Finisher" and "Team Worker." This insight helped us allocate tasks effectively based on individual strengths and preferences.
Roles & Responsibilities
Created a detailed roles and responsibilities table outlining each team member's tasks. I was assigned the responsibility of creating marketing materials and delivering sessions on Digital Marketing and UX Design.
Project Timeline
Contributed to developing a comprehensive Gantt chart and task list that spanned from September to December 2023, ensuring all planning, design, and delivery phases were properly scheduled.
Risk Assessment
Participated in creating a risk management plan that identified potential issues like equipment failures, time management challenges, and resource availability, along with appropriate mitigation strategies.
Design Phase
In the design phase, I focused on creating marketing materials and developing lesson plans for my Digital Marketing and UX Design sessions. I used various problem-solving techniques, including brainstorming, to generate creative ideas.
Marketing Materials
I created the slogan "ENRICH YOUR LIFE, ENRICH YOUR MIND" for all marketing materials. Using brainstorming techniques, I designed promotional flyers for both Level 1 and Level 2 sessions, incorporating images of the college's Digital Hub and relevant session information.
Initial Flyer Draft Sketch
Level 1 Digital Marketing Flyer
Level 2 UX Design Flyer
The flyers were designed using Canva after initial paper sketching. I chose a portrait A5 format to make them easy to distribute and included the college's Digital Hub imagery to connect with the actual learning environment. Each flyer featured the title of the session, a brief description, and details about date, time, and location.
Lesson Planning
I developed comprehensive lesson plans for both sessions, incorporating the VARK learning model to cater to different learning styles. Each plan included learning objectives, engaging activities, and assessment strategies.
For the Digital Marketing session, I designed an activity where students would create a customer avatar and develop targeted marketing strategies. For the UX Design session, I planned a Norman's Door exercise to illustrate design principles in everyday objects.
Delivery Phase
During the delivery phase in December 2023, I successfully conducted two teaching sessions and supported a team member in their Virtual Reality session. I applied problem-solving skills to overcome technical challenges and ensure smooth session delivery.

Digital Marketing Session (Level 1)
Delivered a comprehensive introduction to digital marketing concepts, focusing on target audience identification and customer personas. Students created avatars and developed marketing strategies for specific products.

UX Design Session (Level 2)
Taught user experience design principles through practical examples like Norman's Door. Students analyzed website interfaces, identifying good and bad design practices based on established UX principles.

Support Role (VR Session)
Provided technical and instructional support for Jake's Virtual Reality session. Assisted students with VR headsets, participated in activities when a student was absent, and helped to resolve technical issues.
Challenges & Solutions
During the Level 1 session, I encountered technical issues with computer login and peripheral connections. Using the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) approach, I quickly identified solutions and applied preventive measures for my Level 2 session, arriving earlier to set up equipment.
Based on the feedback from Level 1, I improved the Level 2 session by implementing a more structured registration system and enhancing the interactive elements of the lesson. These improvements resulted in higher engagement and more positive feedback from students.
Evaluation & Reflection
The evaluation phase involved analyzing feedback from students, peers, and tutors, as well as conducting self-reflection on the effectiveness of my teaching methods and overall project contributions. This critical analysis helped identify strengths and areas for improvement.
Student Feedback Analysis
Student feedback for both sessions was overwhelmingly positive. Analysis of feedback forms revealed several key insights:
Digital Marketing Session
Students found the session engaging and appreciated the discussion format. They particularly enjoyed the customer avatar activity and how real-world examples made the concepts relatable.
UX Design Session
Students praised the interactive elements, especially the Norman's Door exercise and website analysis activity. One improvement suggestion was to extend the session time to explore topics in greater depth.
Certificates & Feedback

Peer-to-Peer Feedback
Received positive feedback from team members Jack and Jacob, who supported my sessions. They commented on my clear presentation style, effective engagement with students, and ability to handle technical challenges professionally.
Self-Reflection
Reflecting on the entire project, I identified several areas of strength and opportunities for improvement:
Strengths
- Effective application of Belbin Team Roles in understanding my contributions as a Completer Finisher
- Creative development of marketing materials and session resources
- Ability to adapt and problem-solve when facing technical challenges
- Strong engagement with students through interactive activities
Areas for Improvement
- Better preparation for technical setup to avoid login and peripheral issues
- More structured approach to registration and certificate management
- Consideration of student work folders for organizing activity outputs
- Balancing my tendency to take over with effective delegation
Key Learnings
- The value of using learning models like Kolb's rather than relying solely on VARK
- The importance of preparation and redundancy in technical setups
- The effectiveness of real-world examples in enhancing student engagement
- The need for clear role definition in team projects
